UPDATE: On Friday, June 26th the House took a historic step and passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. This is the most important enviromental legislation in U.S. history and we applaud the House members that voted for our future. Next stop, the Senate.

The U.S. Congress is expected to vote TODAY on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (also called the Waxman-Markey Climate bill). This landmark bill could break our dangerous reliance on foreign oil, make our nation the world leader in clean energy jobs and technology, and cut down on dangerous factors which accelerate the deteriorating atmosphere.

Find out more about the legislation and call your Representatives at (202) 224-3121 to urge them to support the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. It's time we take a solid step foward towards a cleaner, safer future.
