In Oregon, 54 percent of the voters favored a proposition to increase the state income tax on persons with income over $250,000 and to raise corporate taxes. A majority of voters understood that taxes must be increased in order not to cut services, and the taxes should be increased on the people who can afford to pay them. They understood that if you want something, you must pay for it. This is something people can understand if politicians will step up and explain the choices clearly and specifically. Democrats, please stiffen your spines!
