We always suspected it but now we have the proof. Vice President Dick Cheney clearly was the brains behind most, if not all, of the outrages that the Bush Administration foisted on our nation and the world. President Bush has not been heard and only rarely seen since he left office. But, Cheney has become an ardent spokesperson for violating international law and common sense. Worse, he seems to be gaining some traction just as our country is beginning to gain some credibility in the world again. It's time to fight back and remind Mr. Cheney that we are a nation of laws, that we must respect those laws if we are to have any respect any where in the world. While we most certainly don't agree with President Obama on everything, we do agree that torture is unacceptable and that even purported terrorists deserve their day in court -- and, yes, to be convicted if the evidence prevails. Just what is Mr. Cheney so afraid of? We can only think he must be worried that even more of his own malfeasance will be put on display. Call on Members of Congress to loudly denounce the Cheney campaign of fear mongering and lawlessness. Tell them that the Bush-Cheney approach significantly diminished our standing in the world community and that the American public have renounced that approach. Get the same message out in letters to the editor, in town hall meetings and anywhere else it is appropriate. View All ADA Updates |
